You might received SMS from Way2SMS, Freecharge, your banks with sender name like
DT -Topup, BW-Google, DM- Amazon, VM- Redbus etc.
You ever thought what is the meaning of DT, BM, DM etc. ?

SMS which are send by Bulk SMS providers follows certain rules framed by Telecome Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
According to TRAI rules,
- The name of the sender should be restricted to 6 characters. (E.g DT - Topup, DZ - WAYSMS)
- The first two character prefix have specific meaning.
- First character represents the service provider
